A month dedicated to arts and crafts activities is a perfect way to develop child’s creativity! Making art projects and crafts together will bring you a lot of fun! And at the end of the month, you will have a nice collection of artworks and crafts that you created together! 🙂

Here is the plan that we followed during the month of “Arts and crafts”. It contains a lot of craft ideas and art activities that I hope your kids will enjoy!

{ I am a stay at home mom now, so I get to spend a lot of time with my son and this plan is based on this. If you are a working mom or you have more children the plan may seem more difficult to put into practice, but you can adjust it in a way that allows you to include it in your daily life. }

Things to do every day

– one easy craft every day

I have gathered a list of 28 playful craft ideas, so you will easily find inspiration for your daily crafts. You can store all of them and organize an exhibition at home with all of them at the end of the month. I’m sure that kids will love this idea!

– one art activity every day

The art activity is all about letting the child explore his creativity without many interventions from the parent. These activities can include painting, drawing, canvas painting, finger painting and so on.

Things to do every week:

– a story in a drawing

This is a lovely idea that I’ve discovered some time ago!  The idea is simple: the parent makes a drawing illustrating a story and tells the story while drawing. The story can be inspired by a book or it can be invented on the spot.

Then it is the child’s turn to do the same thing: making a drawing while telling a story. This is a good opportunity to use stories and drawings for addressing some of the child’s feelings and fears and approach them in a playful way.

– an easy handmade gift for someone you love

The arts & crafts month is about creativity but it’s also a perfect opportunity to create cute little gifts for the persons you love. You can create a small gift every week. It’s a great way to combine creative activities with preparing nice surprises for your loved ones!

You can use these ideas of lovely and easy Valentine’s Day crafts for kids. They are not only for Valentine’s Day. You can use them anytime you want to help your child create meaningful little handmade gifts for someone they love! And any day can be a perfect moment to bring joy to a loved one! 🙂

An additional idea

In addition to the daily and weekly activities, you can also plan an event at home called “exhibition day“. In that day you can display your favorite crafts and artworks. You can also make a mini party at home (only for you and the child) to celebrate it. If you want to make the exhibition even more “public”, you can invite some family members or friends with kids to join you. I am sure that your kids will enjoy the special attention that they will get!
