When I was looking for some date night inspiration I discovered a wonderful idea that I totally loved and I wanted to try for us: the date night jar! The idea is really simple: creating a special jar full of date ideas to have alway on hand when you need inspiration.

I think a jar like this is a useful reminder not to forget to spend quality couple time. Sometimes our lives are so busy with daily tasks that we don’t give enough attention to what really matters. I once read that the secret to being part of a happy couple is to never forget the importance of the relationship and to take the time to say to your partner how much you love him and to show him this in small everyday gestures. The date nights are a wonderful manner to build a stronger relationship and they are really fun too!

I plan to be more focus on my relationship this year and the date night jar could be a nice way to start this!

If you like this idea too, here you can find all the details about it and also a printable with a lot of date ideas to fill in the jar. 🙂

How to make a date night jar

First, you need an empty jar. I used an empty jar from some disinfecting wipes but you can use a lot whatever jar you have in the house. Then you need to decorate the jar to make it nice and lovely. 🙂 I can only use a label (you can find one in the printable), but you can also let your creativity inspire you to create something more special. You can paint the jar or cover it with colored paper. I just used some heart sticker to make it more colorful.

After the jar is ready you only need to fill it in with date night ideas. You can create your own little notes or you can print the ones in the printable and cut them into little notes. I included on my list some at home date ideas (the ones in wrote about in this article: 14 lovely at-home date night ideas for parents) but also some ideas for going out on a date. I don’t think we will be able to put into practice the ideas for going out soon (because we have no babysitter) but at least I hope to inspire you to try them!

At the beginning of each week, you can pick a note from the jar and get an idea for the next date. Some of the ideas require a little bit of planning, so it’s best to know it advance what you’ll do on the date night. The planning will make you look forward to having the date, so this will make it even more romantic! 🙂date night jar

I should do something like this. Most of the time we just go out and eat because we love food. Or we see a movie. This would at least get us doing something different.

I guess, being married really needs a lot of effort. You need to remember that you should always make time for each other as well. Cheers to date nights!
