Spring is a great period to do outdoor activities with kids, but can also bring a lot of inspiration for learning activities and arts & crafts projects! I searched for some spring activity ideas for young kids and I ran into a lot of interesting articles, so I wanted to share with you all these activities, in case you also plan to do spring and Easter activities with your kids!

At the end of this article, you will also find our printable spring activity pack. This is a collection of activities that I created for my son and that are suitable for toddlers and preschoolers. I hope you’ll enjoy them too!

But first, here are our favorite activity ideas that we want to try this spring:

Download our list of "25 Boredom Busters for Young Kids"!

Join our community and receive our list of low or no-prep activities that young kids will enjoy! You will also get access to our exclusive printable collection with a lot of other resources for parents.

Learning activities

Literacy activities:

If you want to use Easter activities to practice the alphabet, the Easter Egg Alphabet Scavenger Hunt and Matching Activity is a great way to do this!

Another nice idea is the ABC Easter egg match from Busy Toddler, that is really easy to prepare; you just need some plastic Easter eggs and a sharpie! For more activities like letter identification, letter sounds, and even word spelling, here is a very interesting idea from Mom inspired life: Planting flowers alphabet activity.

Counting activity:

If you also want to practice counting with your child, here is an interesting idea from Nurture Store: Counting with Easter Eggs.

Sequencing activity:

If your child likes “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle, I’m sure that he will enjoy this activity from School Time Snippets: The Very Hungry Caterpillar Sequencing Printable (it’s a really fun and hands-on activity!)

Painting activities:

I discovered two nice painting activities from Buggy and Buddy that are great for toddlers and preschoolers: Easter Crafts for Kids: Painting with Plastic Easter Eggs (an art activity using plastic Easter eggs) and Sponge Painted Easter Egg Basket (an art activity using sponges).

Craft activities:

Creative activities are a great way to prepare for Easter! Here are some ideas that I really liked and we plan to try this spring:

Potato Stamp Easter Eggs from Practically Functional (a quick and easy craft)
