Sometimes life surprises us in very unexpected ways and one small decision can make a huge difference for our future. This happened to me at the beginning of this year. And I am still amazed how much things have changed in my life since that moment!
When I started this blog, in December 2016, I had no clear plan about it. I only knew that I wanted to reach other moms, share my experiences and the tips that helped me overcome the challenges in my life.
I already had another blog since 2013, so I had some good experience as a blogger. But that blog was written in my native tongue and switching to writing in English and addressing to a totally new audience were two major additional challenges.
So I basically started a new blogging journey from scratch.
One day I read about a blogging course that seemed to be exactly what I needed. I wanted to learn how to be a better blogger and that course promised to teach me this. But the price tag was intimidating. I was afraid to invest so much in a course without even knowing if it’s really what I needed.
But one discussion with an experienced blogger changed the way I thought about this.
She told me how she grew her blog and managed to reach and inspire a lot of people. And it sounded so amazing! She also managed to quit her job and transform blogging into her full-time business with great results. Basically, she can support her whole family while doing something she truly likes!
Her story was very inspiring for me because blogging is something that I enjoy and transforming it into a full-time job would be a dream came true!
She told me that the thing that helped her the most in growing her blog was investing in learning about blogging in a professional way. And she encouraged me to invest in the courses I feel that can make me a better blogger.
The next day I enrolled in the blogging course that I wanted and this was the best decision that I’ve ever made when it comes to blogging! That course not only helped me grow my blog but it also allowed me to meet inspiring bloggers who motivate me. I have learned so many things in such a short time and I am so grateful for this!
In the next months, I have continued this strategy of investing in high-quality courses and resources.
And it has totally paid off! After taking a lot of different free blogging courses I can honestly tell you that the real way to make progress as a blogger is to invest in paid courses and make a commitment to really follow their instructions.
If you can afford to invest in your development and you feel that you have the commitment it takes to put the courses into practice, I totally encourage you to do this! It will help you grow your blog. And even more, it will probably change the way you think about blogging!
Because that discussion from the beginning of this year totally changed my blogging journey, I made myself two promises:
– that I will always invest in my development as a blogger (there are so many things to learn!)
– that I will share my blogging journey and all the tips that I learn along the way with anyone who wants to grow their blog.
I have received a lot of help and support in the last months and I truly want to help other bloggers too. I know how it feels to work on your blog and to struggle with so many challenges. And I am so thankful for all the things that I learned from other bloggers who shared their “secrets” with me!
So I decided to do the same thing on my blog.
And I hope that this will be helpful for any blogger who goes through the same struggles! 🙂
Today I want to share with you the blogging courses that helped me grow my blog. I took them while attending the major course that I wrote about at the beginning of this article. And each and every one of them helped me improve specific aspects of my blogging journey.
If you are looking for some high-quality resources to help you grow your blog, I am sure that you’ll find some helpful courses on this list.
1. Building a Framework: The Ultimate Blogging Handbook by Abby Lawson
Abby Lawson is the author of Just a Girl and Her Blog. She started this blog in 2013 and transformed it in a very successful blog about organization, productivity, and decoration.
Her book was one of the first books about blogging that I really enjoyed reading! It offers practical tips that go from starting a blog all the way to making a full-time income from blogging.
The book is great for new bloggers but it is also helpful for more experienced bloggers.
Recently she improved the content of the book by creating a full course about blogging. It contains video modules, a workbook, and other additional resources.
Here is how she describes her course:
“My goal with Building a Framework was not to throw out a bunch of blogging theories but to single out the best, most effective strategies that will help new bloggers take tangible action steps toward starting and building a better blog, creating a stronger framework for their online business.
Not only is Framework packed full of tried-and-true methods that you can start using today, but all of the information is laid out in a logical way that will take new bloggers and bloggers-to-be through the process of growing successful blogs one step at a time.“
You can find all the details about the book and the course HERE.

2. Traffic Transformation by Lena Gott
This ebook is packed with great tips for growing traffic! Its complete title is “Traffic Transformation: 21 Strategies I Used to Increase My Monthly Page Views from 17k to 400k+ in 10 Months“. I think that this title says it all!
My mindset has changed over the last months and my focus has moved from gaining traffic to building a community. So I am not chasing page views and I don’t make traffic my main goal. Still, traffic is important because I can only build a community if I manage to reach enough readers.
And this ebook is one of the best resources on growing a blog organically! If gaining traffic is an important goal for you, these strategies can really make a difference!
The ebook is full of practical ideas that you can implement on your blog. I love the fact that the tips were very easy to follow and I saw the results soon after putting them into practice.
You can find all the details about the book HERE.
3. Inbox Invitation by Sarah Mueller
One of my biggest struggles in the last months was to find an effective way to connect with my readers. Building an email list is important but building a connection with the people on the list is even more important!
And this course by Sarah Mueller is exactly about building that connection! Reading this ebook gave me more confidence about emailing my subscribers. Now it is easier for me to write my weekly newsletter and I enjoy doing it! I even plan to write more than one email per week in the future and this course showed me how to do this without being spammy.
Sarah Mueller is the author of Early Bird Mom and she has a unique way of using emails to connect with her audience and grow her blog. Her ebook – Inbox Invitation – contains a big list of 21 ways to use emails and many examples about how to put them into practice! I totally love the swipe file with 55 pages of actual emails, it’s a great inspiration for writing to my readers!
If writing great emails to your readers is one of your priorities, this course will certainly help you! It is also very helpful if you want to promote affiliate sales (or even your own products) via email without being spammy or annoying for your audience.
4. Rosemarie Groner’s cheat sheets for blogging
Rosemarie created BusyBudgeter.com and grew her blog from $18 a month to $30,000 a month in 18 months. Isn’t this amazing? What I love about her is that she always shares a lot of tips in such an open and helpful way!
Her cheat sheets are very short but they are packed up with effective strategies that you can apply right away!
The Core Affiliate Strategy Guide
This guide is useful for bloggers in the U.S. because it focuses on affiliate programs that are available here. The Core Affiliate Strategy Guide provided me a clear strategy on how to choose the right affiliates and promote them in an honest way. For me, it was always important to only promote things that I really like. And this guide helped me put this into practice.
Here is the description of the guide:
“The Core Affiliate Strategy teaches you step by step how to use your email list to generate consistent monthly income from your blog. Rosemarie used this system to make more than $50,000/month in affiliate income. This strategy gives you the best results in the fastest time without being sales-like or spammy.”
Important: This strategy can be applied even if you don’t have a big email list. Still, I think that it is better if you purchase it when you have at least 1.000 subscribers on your list. (the bigger your list is, the more effective this strategy is!)
5. Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers by Tasha Agruso
Tasha Agruso is the author of DesignerTrapped.com and she is a 6-figure blogger who earns a great income using affiliate marketing. If you want to learn how to implement affiliate marketing, she is the perfect person to learn from!
Her book, Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers, contains everything you need to know to understand affiliate marketing and use it on your blog. For me, this book was the resource that I needed to start using affiliate marketing.
She also developed two courses with many details and practical tips. I took the Fundamentals Course as it was included in a blogging bundle that I purchased and it was very useful. The Master Course contains the full pack of tips and resources, but it is not open for enrollment at this point. You can join the waiting list here. In the meantime, you can start with the Fundamentals Course.
“Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers: The Master Course is packed with actionable strategies so you can STOP chasing page views and EARN INCOME from the hard work you have already put in to your blog.”
