1. Go on a scavenger hunt
My son loves scavenger hunt ever since he was a toddler. So he will certainly have fun with a family scavenger hunt.

3. Plan a family board game tournament
This is one of our favorite family activities! Board games are fun, and kids love them!
Spending half a day playing your favorite board games will bring a lot of laughter.
4. Camp in the backyard
My son would love this! If your kids enjoy camping as well, placing a tent in the backyard is an easy way to enjoy a camping experience without spending any money.
5. Go on a hiking trip
We have a lot of nature trails close to our home, and we plan to take some time to explore them. If you have a natural park nearby, a day trip can be an awesome staycation idea!

You can use the fort for many activities like reading, crafting, telling family stories. If you build the fort in the evening, you can use flashlights to create a special atmosphere that kids will enjoy.
The easiest way to build a blanket fort is to put some blanket over a big table.
14. Spend half a day at the library
Invite the whole family to a trip to the library and spend half a day reading together! If your library has family story times, attend one of these events with your kids.
