Inside: This back to school scavenger hunt can be used as both a school supply scavenger hunt when going to the store or an easy and fun activity to do at home!
In the last days, I looked for different ways to make the last days before starting school more fun and special for my son.
The first idea that we implemented was our countdown to kindergarten that will offer us easy ideas to try every day to add more joy and connection to these last days before school.
One of the activities included on our list is a trip to the store to buy school supplies for kindergarten. I’m pretty sure that my son will enjoy choosing his school supplies, especially his new backpack and lunch box.
To make the school supply shopping even more fun I decided to create a back to school scavenger hunt.
This is a great activity for keeping young kids engaged in shopping in a playful way, so I wanted to share this printable file with you!
Two ways to use the back to school scavenger hunt
If you have a young child who would enjoy this activity, here are two ways to use this printable file:
- You can use this printable as a school supply scavenger hunt during your trip to the store to buy supplies for the next year. Give the list to your child and invite them to add all the supplies in the cart and check them off the list.
- If you prefer to buy the supplies on your own or order them online, prepare a back to school scavenger hunt at home. First, hide the school supplies in different places around the house. Then, give the list to your child and invite them to find all the supplies and check them off the list.
Both ideas are very easy to put into practice, and they will bring more fun and excitement before school starts!
