Playing board games together is one of our favorite family activities. We started playing games with our eldest son when he was a toddler, and over the years, we tried a lot of games.

As he grew up, the games became more fun and engaging for the whole family. In the past, I wrote about our favorite board games for toddlers and preschoolers, and now I want to share with you 9 awesome board games for 6-8 year olds.

From all the board game ideas I shared so far, these are my favorites! I love playing them with my son, and they brought many hours of family fun to our home!

A note about the recommended age for the games: We tried some of the games when our son was a little younger than the age mentioned on the games, but on this list I included the age recommended by the manufacturer.

This board game was our favorite choice for family game night when our son was 6 years old and we still play it now.

It’s a fun game for all ages and provides plenty of opportunities for kids to learn strategy and geography as they build train tracks across America.
